のみ / only

のみ (nomi) is a particle in Japanese that means “only” or “nothing but.” It’s used to limit or restrict what is being described—for example, 本日のみ有効 (“valid today only”) or 会員のみ (“members only”). While similar to だけ (dake), のみ is more formal and often appears in written Japanese, contracts, notices, and official announcements.
