見通し / outlook; forecast
見通し (mitōshi) can mean a physical “clear view” ahead, but more often it refers to a forecast or outlook—whether for the weather, business, or personal plans. For example, 経済の見通し means “economic outlook.” It suggests the ability to see what’s coming, either literally or figuratively, and is commonly used in both everyday and professional Japanese.
