変換ミス / mis-conversion
変換ミス (henkan misu) refers to a mistake made when converting typed text, especially when using Japanese input methods (IME). Because Japanese is typed phonetically and then converted into kanji, it’s easy to select the wrong character—resulting in humorous or confusing errors.
For example, typing きかい could be converted to 機械 (machine) instead of 機会 (opportunity). These kinds of mix-ups are classic 変換ミス moments.
