単品 / single item
単品 (tanpin) refers to a single item sold or ordered on its own, rather than as part of a set or combo. You’ll often see it on menus in Japan, where a dish can be ordered 単品 or with sides. In retail, it can also mean buying just one unit of a product. 単品 gives customers flexibility to mix, match, or keep things simple.
