お札 (osatsu) refers to paper currency in Japan, and in 2024, a new series of banknotes was introduced with updated designs and advanced security features. The ¥1,000, ¥5,000, and ¥10,000 bills feature 3D holograms and new portraits, showcasing historical figures like Shibasaburō Kitasato. These redesigned お札 aim to enhance security while preserving Japan’s rich cultural heritage.
